Dietrich Bonhoeffer exhibition
The Protestant theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1906-1945) is regarded as one of the most important representatives of Christian resistance under National Socialism. The exhibition portrays the life and work of the Protestant pastor.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer studied theology in Tübingen, Bonn and Rome and traveled to New York in 1930. After 1933, as a member of the Confessing Church, he became a leading theologian in the church opposition movement. As a result of the failed assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler, explosive material was discovered that was used against Bonhoeffer. The SS murdered him in the Flossenbürg concentration camp on April 9, 1945.
The exhibition provides information about Bonhoeffer's life and contains numerous quotes, photographs and texts, including the famous hymn “Von Guten Mächten”. The “Dietrich Bonhoeffer” exhibition comprises 17 posters.
